ANIMAL CARE & CONTROL LAUNCHES HOLIDAY DONATION DRIVE TO BENEFIT NEW YORK’S HOMELESS ANIMALS
Animal Care & Control of New York City (AC&C), the largest pet rescue and adoption agency in the North East, is launching a holiday donation and toy drive beginning on Monday, December 8, and continuing throughout the month of January. Individuals can bring joy and warmth to homeless NYC animals by donating new or gently used toys, along with unopened pet food, blankets and towels at AC&C shelters and drop-off locations throughout Manhattan and the surrounding boroughs. Monetary donations to the organization can be made by visiting www.nycacc.org.
Those concerned with the cost of holiday gift giving may want to consider adopting an animal companion from AC&C, where cat and dog adoption fees start as low as $25. This fee includes a complimentary visit with a participating veterinarian.
New York City businesses participating in the drive include the Manhattan Veterinary Group, New York Veterinary Hospital and the Fifth Avenue Veterinary Specialists in Manhattan, as well as Brooklyn pet shops Top Dog Shop and Brooklyn Dog House among others. Donations including unopened cat and dog food, along with new and gently used dog toys and blankets, can be placed in drop off boxes on-site during regular business hours. See list below.
Animal Care & Control has adoption events every weekend in each of the five boroughs, and there are always adoptable animals looking for a permanent home in the shelters.
