A volunteer writes: You don't need to wait on a scoop of ice cream for this stunner to float your boat. 2 year-old Root Beer is just as sweet as he sounds and, if you're anything like me, will leave your cup brimming with nostalgia. For simpler days in the summer sun when life was easy and worries were none. And, of course, when manners were king. For Root Beer is just the sort of character to open your door and to pull out your chair. To toss a coat across your shoulders, a shield against the winter's air. In short order - he's a gentleman. And on our most recent meeting (in a park though it easily could have been the local soda shoppe) he sat at my feet with sage eyes and demeanor, and patiently he waited. For treats or for pets, for cuddles or snacks, it doesn't matter. Root Beer's ever the same. Sweet and clear-eyed, full of soul, full of pride, and just asking for the chance to please you. Now we mentioned coats earlier, and Root Beer's? Well it could be better. It's dotted with scratches and scars, missing patches, nicks that mar, but what's underneath still shines like a light. Root Beer comes to us as a stray so much of his past remains unknown. We do know he would so enjoy and benefit from lots of love, TLC, and many hearty meals, and the chance to show off those terrific manners in a home that will always be his. Root Beer the gentleman will certainly bring you nostalgia for afternoons at the soda shoppe. When life was easy and worries were not. And when what's inside mattered most. And you? Well you'll bring Root Beer the life he deserves and the comfort he craves. And his chance at happily ever after. Root Beer is waiting in adoptions at Manhattan ACC.
