LOW COST BOARDING SERVICES

If you are temporarily in a difficult situation or crisis such as eviction, homelessness, in between apartments, are the victim of a house fire or domestic violence, or must temporarily be hospitalized , you don’t have to give up your pet. The Safety Net/Pets for Life NYC Program may be able to help you with our low cost boarding services. You may also want to board your pet if you absolutely cannot keep him or her and need time to locate a new loving home, or you have rescued a homeless animal and need to board him or her while you search for a permanent home. The Safety Net/Pets for Life NYC  Program has very affordable reduced rates available at participating boarding facilities in NYC.  

Whereas regular rates for boarding animals can run between $25 and $40 per day, Safety Net/Pets for Life NYC participating boarding facilities offer low cost boarding for only $11-$15 per day for dogs (regardless of the size), and $8- $10 per day for cats.

Payment upfront for the amount of time your pet will be boarded must be made
at the time you bring your animal to one of our participating boarding kennels.  In order to be able to provide such a low cost rate we must be able to guarantee that the low cost fee will be paid on time and that the animal will be reclaimed within a reasonable amount of time. We will discuss this with you.

How to get low-cost boarding services: Call 917-468-2938 for information or talk to a Safety Net/Pets for Life NYC representative at our shelters. You will be asked to complete a BOARDING APPLICATION and we will answer any questions you have. If approved and there is space, you will sign a BOARDING AGREEMENT and can then begin boarding. You must provide transportation for your animal to the participating boarding kennel. If you cannot, we can try to arrange volunteer transport for your pet.
