Bella Rose was first surrendered to the care center in 2018 due to her owner being unable to care for her then was reclaimed shortly after. Bella Rose has recently been surrendered a second time due to financial hardships in addition to allergies and a newborn in the home. Her previous owner reports Bella Rose to be shy with strangers and she may bark or growl though she may also be friendly. She is reported to be relaxed, tolerant and playful with the resident children. In the care center, while she has displayed some social behavior, she has also displayed a level of handling sensitivity and fear. Bella Rose has been observed to head flip, snarl, snap and spin around in attempts to catch her tail on one occasion when a handler touched her on the lower half of her back. Bella Rose repeated this behavior twice more afterwards. We cannot be certain what this behavior stems from though we advise exercising caution, Bella Rose should be able to warm up at her own pace and should be allowed to initiate any/all interaction. Additionally, Bella Rose has been observed to become tense when approached while engaged with a toy item in the care center, therefore we also recommend never forcibly removing any item (food or toy) from Bella Rose's possession, trading only is advised. Due to all the observed behavior concerns in both her previous home and the care center, we feel as though Bella Rose would benefit best in an adult only home who understands how to appropriately manage her behavior and set her up for success.
