Pre-Screener Form

Glory has been fearful around new people, growling at them when they approach her in her kennel or outside but has been highly social with select handlers, soliciting attention and allowing handling. Glory was described as growling and tense during her medical exam. Her previous owners describe Glory to be uncomfortable meeting new people and "extremely overprotective" of her owners. During intake Glory was noted to lunge at a staff member. Glory is reported to have bitten a small dog who approached her in her previous home, not breaking skin. We recommend placement with a New Hope partner who can provide any necessary behavior modification (force-free, positive reinforcement-based) and re-evaluate behavior in a stable home environment before placement into a permanent adult-only home due to Glory being reported to be uncomfortable around unfamiliar people and the potential for defensive aggression she has displayed.

A staff member writes: Meet Glory in all of her glory. She's a cow-spotted low rider that can capture your heart. Glory loves to spend time with familiar friends, but will need time to come out of her shell and open up to new people. She seeks an adult only home that will allow her the space she needs to open up, and will eventually enjoy leisurely walks or lounging in favorite hangout spots.
