As ACC takes in more than 25,000 animals every year, we have a variety of innovative programs designed to address the overall needs of our animals and provide critical support to our community. Funding is essential in ensuring our ability to continue our important work. We have targeted funds to support the specific needs of our animals and the community and we are always developing new initiatives to continually advance our best practices in care, placement, and overall support. Corporate grants are essential in providing financial support for our programs and funds such as these, among others. Community Pets Program
The Community Pets Program is a compassionate outreach initiative of Animal Care Centers of NYC (ACC). Our goal is simple: keep pets together with their human families by providing access to necessary health and welfare resources for pets. ACC’s Community Pets Program works within Bronx and Queens neighborhoods to identify pet owners in need and assist them, as much as possible, in keeping their pets. Free vaccination clinic events, free dog training classes, and free spay/neuter services are just some of what ACC offers. Your corporate grant will enable us to build on the success of our community pets program, and increase the level of support that we are able to offer to so many individuals in need and enable us to expand our reach in NYC even further.
Star Fund
As ACC is the only open admission shelter in NYC, thousands of animals requiring extensive medical and/or surgical care come to us for help. Our STAR (Special Treatment & Recovery) Fund provides the critical financial resources needed for medical care that only a specialized facility can provide. Your corporate grant will help ACC ensure that animals in need of urgent medical care have the resources they need to be on the road to recovery.
Edelman generously supports our Community Pets fund enabling us to keep pets together with their human families by providing access to necessary health and welfare resources. We are thankful to Edelman for all their support.
VCA Animal Hospitals are generous supporters of our STAR (Special Treatment & Recovery) Fund enabling us to provide extensive medical and/or surgical care to animals in need. We are thankful to VCA for all their support.
The Petco Foundation is a great partner and generous supporter of our strategic initiatives. Since 2016, their critical funding has supported our Canine Enrichment Program, one of the first such programs at an open admission shelter in the country. The program focuses on behavior training and playgroups, enabling our dogs to play and socialize with one another, providing untold behavioral and health benefits while increasing adoptability as well. We are very thankful to the Petco Foundation for their continued support.
Corporate Sponsors provide support in many ways and contribute greatly to our mission and overall needs of our organization. Corporate Sponsorships can take many forms, and can be designed to the needs and goals of your organization. Opportunities can include quarterly and annual sponsorship with varying levels of support. You can also sponsor our gala events, with the opportunity to purchase tickets for our events and donate your company’s products or services as auction items. With event sponsorship your corporate logo will be prominently featured on our marketing and social media promotion for our events.
The ASPCA is one of our most important partners providing critical support to us in many diverse areas. The ASPCA is also a leading sponsor for our yearly gala, the Boroughbred Ball, as well as our other key events, our Spring Fling and Pit Bowl. These fundraising events provide critical funding for ACC’s programs all year long.
Through a cause related partnership with ACC, you can help to raise awareness of our cause and of homeless animals in general, expand your company’s reach through the vast appeal of animals, and offer your consumers the opportunity to help the homeless animals of NYC. We are always seeking more ways to spread the word about us and our animals, so reach out to us if you would like to discuss cause related partnership opportunities.
You can provide your employees with a matching gift program, in which you match employee contributions at a rate of 1:1, 2:1 or even greater. You can also offer a volunteer grant program, in which the level of your grant is commensurate with your employees’ volunteer service. If you are a volunteer, verify with your employer to find out if your company participates in either of these kinds of programs, and they can provide you with information on how to take advantage of these benefits, as well as any forms you may need to complete in order to participate.

Your team can attend a virtual tour of one of our care centers and have the opportunity to see our amazing animals who are available for adoption, and get an exciting behind the scenes look into the day to day activities at our shelters. During our virtual event we will also provide a presentation on ACC and all of the ways you can get involved with our cause to help the homeless animals of NYC.
Your team can attend a live virtual event with some of our amazing foster animals who are available for adoption. You will have the opportunity to speak directly with their fosters and learn all about our animals. During our virtual event we will also provide information on ACC and all of the ways you can get involved to help the homeless animals of NYC.
We offer on-site outreach tabling events, where we come to your office to speak with your team, provide an overview of ACC and all the ways to get involved, including volunteering, fostering, adopting, and donating. We often bring animals who are available for adoption to our events, so your team has the opportunity to meet and foster or adopt some of our amazing animals on site.
We have a suggested donation for these on-site events and will work together with you to build the event around your schedule and needs.

Your team will attend a tour of our Manhattan shelter during which you will have the opportunity to meet and socialize with our amazing animals, dogs, cats, rabbits, and guinea pigs, and learn much more about all of our programs and the ways to get involved. Volunteer time frame is approximately 3 hours, and we have a suggested donation for these events.
The Blackstone Group participates regularly in our corporate volunteer program and we are grateful for their generous financial contributions. We always enjoy working with their team when they come to volunteer at our shelter, and we are appreciative of the time they spend socializing with our animals and for all the help they provide during their visits. We offer outreach volunteer opportunities to corporate groups. Your team will attend a tour of one of our shelters, during which you will meet our animals and attend a presentation with an overview of ACC and all of the ways to get involved. Then your team can participate in our outreach volunteer program, in which volunteers attend off-site outreach events and public to build awareness about ACC and our animals and work to recruit more volunteers, fosters, adopters, and donors to help our cause. Outreach volunteers also help to build awareness of ACC through their personal and professional networks, and with their communities through a variety of different efforts, from promoting on social media to posting flyers in their neighborhoods. We have a suggested donation for these events.
Every week we hold outreach tabling and mobile adoption events throughout NYC, where we engage with the public to spread the word about ACC, recruit more adopters, fosters, volunteers and donors. We are always seeking new venues and locations to hold our events so we can expand our reach in NYC even further, so hosting an ACC event at your location is an incredible way to help. Our outreach tabling and mobile adoption events are generally held outside where we can speak with the public, but depending upon the particular venue some events are held inside as well.
Birch Coffee is a generous host for many of our outreach and mobile adoption events at their coffee shops throughout NYC, enabling us to expand our outreach further helping to raise awareness and find loving homes for many of our animals. Birch Coffee donates their products for our fundraising events and has even created a special “Bully Blend” brew whose entire proceeds directly benefit ACC and the cause of pit bulls in general.
